P.Diddy Says Empire Stole His Life Story & He's Suing

Damn WTF !! P Diddy or Sean Combs has accused producer Lee Daniels and his writers of mining his personal story for their hit show Empire. Empire follows the life of Luscious Lyon, a hip-hop mogul who is diagnosed with ALS just at the time he is about to take his label Empire Records public. My dude Diddy went & said ...

“It’s basically my life except the ALS stuff. All the homosexuality and everything that’s pretty much been done too. They might as well have called it Breaking Bad Boy,” said Combs from his luxurious white sofa joined by his girlfriend Cassie at his side. A white Bengal tiger roamed the room freely.

No stranger to lack of originality, Diddy went on to also say, “they basically are detailing everything I had to go through: the shootouts, working with Timbaland, and divas going to prison. I mean, all of it. I think they might owe me some royalties. You can’t just put out the Sean Combs Biography without paying me and I’m filing a million dollar lawsuit.” Daaammn !

YouTube Is About To Delete Independent Artists From Its Site

YouTube Is About To Delete Independent Artists From Its Site

Share Comments 91

In only “a matter of days,” some of your favorite videos on YouTube could be gone, possibly for good.

YouTube is preparing to radically change the site, adding a subscription service that is intended to help them compete in the streaming music industry. The Google-owned video site has already signed new licensing deals with all of the major labels, but many independents are refusing to take part. Apparently, not only are smaller, indie labels not being offered the same deals as the majors, but the contracts that Google is putting in front of them are less than fair.

In order to show their muscle, Google has stated that any label—meaning smaller, independent ones—that does not sign a deal with them will not only be left off the new service, but will have their content taken down from the original, free YouTube. Vice President and Global Head of Business at YouTube Robert Kyncl recently claimed that they already had deals with 90% of the industry, and that they had no choice but to move forward.

“While we wish that we had 100% success rate, we understand that is not likely an achievable goal and therefore it is our responsibility to our users and the industry to launch the enhanced music experience,” he stated.

Rumored to be called YouTube Music Pass, the new service is intended to change the way people use YouTube and stream music, paying a premium to skip ads. In addition, people will be able to download music directly from Music Pass, not just listen. While the field is already crowded with popular programs like Spotify, Beats Music, iTunes Radio, Samsung’s Milk and recently-added Amazon Prime Music, YouTube is easily one of the most used platforms by people to consume music, and can expect initial adoption to be much higher than a new product from a firm just joining the game.

Adele(photo:MarkJ.Terrill/AP)

While initial reports state that the music from artists like Adele, Jack White, and Vampire Weekend would all vanish, that isn’t the whole story. Videos presented on the Vevo platform should remain playable, as the licensing agreements are separate. So, while the Grammy-winning “Rolling In The Deep” music video and its 500 million views should be safe, the ramifications of other clips getting shut down are important.

As noted in an article about the K-Pop artist Psy making money from YouTube ads earlier this week, if a song becomes popular enough, any clip that uses the original music and earns ad revenue is either taken down immediately or split with the track’s owner. Artists make money whenever a cover version, fan-style lyric video, or live version is uploaded on the site and accrue views. As noted in the case of Psy, all of those thousands of additional videos helped him earn over $2 million from ads alone. Soon, all of those would be taken down, and artist revenue could drop.

Perhaps more important is the fact that many up-and-coming artists may have a harder time sharing their music and videos. As sales decline, more and more people look to sites like Youtube, Soundcloud, Bandcamp to let people stream their music, with YouTube being far and away the most popular. Barring lesser-known names from the most popular streaming site in the world could seriously damage the growth of independent artists, and hurt the careers of future stars.

The Worldwide Independent Network (or WIN), an organization created to help push business, creative, and market access interests for the independent music community, is still working to get a fair deal for the indie labels of the world, which hopefully comes before tracks begin getting erased.

“We have tried and will continue to try to help YouTube understand just how important independent music is to any streaming service and why it should be valued accordingly.” said WIN’s chief executive Alison Wenham.

#FoodForThought : Have Faith In Your Dream

#NepMediaBlog

An old man was planting a tree. A young person passed by and asked, What are you planting?

A carob tree, the old man replied.

Silly fool, said the youth. Don't you know that it takes 70 years for a carob tree to bear fruit?

That's okay, said the old man. Just as others planted for me, I plant for future generations.

#FoodForThought : MY BODY IS SIMILAR TO A TREE

#FoodForThought :

A person can appear successful on the outside, with full branches and a fancy car. But if the roots are few -- if there is little connection to one's community and heritage -- then life can send challenges that are impossible to withstand. A strong wind can turn the tree upside down. A person alone is vulnerable to trends and fads that may lead to despair and destruction.

But if a person -- irrespective of wealth and status -- is connected to community and heritage, then even if all the winds of the world were to come and blow against it, they could not budge it from its place.

Humans require a strong home base, where values and morals are absorbed, and which provides a supportive growth environment. In a world rife with negativity; we need a filter, a safe haven to return to and refresh. A community provides an impervious shield -- the soil where we can be ourselves, make our mistakes, and still be accepted, loved and nourished.

Power Couples In The Media

Jay Z and Beyonce

Power Score

Jay Z: One of the greatest emcees alive / Founder of international entertainment company Roc Nation

Beyonce: Arguably the greatest living entertainer in Pop music / Ms. Carter tour one of the highest grossing tours of the decade with around $229 million sales

Allegedly having a combined net worth of $1 billion dollars, Jay Z and Beyonce have become the standard by which most relationships in Hip Hop(and society in general) are judged. The pairing of these two made total sense since they began collaborating musically over a decade ago. The two also essentially held one of the highest grossing tours of 2014 through their On The Run tour. According to recent news, the two are rumored to be working on an album together which should set the industry ablaze if ever released.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen

Power Score

John Legend: Nine Grammy Awards singer/songwriter  / Acclaimed philanthropist

Chrissy Teigen: 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Rookie of The Year and featured model for 50th Anniversary issue / Guest contributor for E!, Extra and MTV among others.

When not making headlines for revealing lude escapades at The White House, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have grown to become one of Hollywood’s elite “it” couples. As the G.O.O.D. Music artist adds more and more into his legacy daily, the former Sports Illustrated swimsuit covergirl has made herself into her own personality. She’s also a pretty cool foodie. It’s been a good year for Legend, who recently opened this year’s Grammy Award ceremonies alongside Beyonce and Common for their Oscar nominated song “Glory.”

T.I. and Tiny

Power Score

T.I.:  Grand Hustle Records general responsible for the rise of B.O.B. and Iggy Azalea / The Kang of the South

Tiny: Former member of 90s R&B group Xscape / Grammy Award winning songwriter of TLC classic “No Scrubs”

Though the couple had been pretty well known in Hip Hop for sometime, both T.I. and Tiny become this generation’s Huxtables thanks to their VH1 reality series T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. One of the network’s number one shows, T.I. proved to be an average guy with a caring family despite a pretty dark past. On the flipside, Tiny showed her hustle outside of someone known for writing one hit single and time with Jermaine Dupri’s girl group. She also managed to earn her own spin-off with friend and personal hairdresser Shekinah Anderson Tiny and Shekinah's Weave Trip.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys

Power Score

Swizz Beatz: Grammy Award winning producer / Acclaimed designer, painter and creative director

Alicia Keys: 15 Grammy Awards / Over 35 million albums sold

Since the reign of The Ruff Ryders has long passed, Swizzy has managed to keep himself busy with numerous ventures ranging from automotive design to a stint with controversial download site Megaupload. That eye for lifestyle earned him recently a high position at Reebok Vice President of Sports Style Marketing, Design, and Brand Music Development.   Since breaking out with her groundbreaking debut Songs In A Minor, Keys has been regarded as one of the greatest to grace R&B.

Pharrell and Helen Lasichanh

Power Score

Pharrell: Iconic music producer / Fashion game changer

Helen Lasichanh: Modern fashion style icon

Besides having over a decade worth of hits with Chad Hugo as the Neptunes, Pharrell has done pretty well for himself on the solo tip. From running 2013 alongside Robin Thicke and T.I. with “Blurred Lines” to dominating the following year with viral sensation “Happy,” the N.E.R.D. frontman is pop music’s backbone. Lets not forget many successful forays into fashion. His wife Helen Lasichanh also has become a modern fashionista if the recent Grammy ceremonies have anything to say.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

Power Score

Kanye West: Music, fashion, and design Mogul / Mr. West is the arbiter by which both Raps-as-art and Rants-as-art are judged.

Kim Kardashian: The socialite catapulted herself into the public consciousness with “Keeping Up With The Kardashian” / “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” is worth an estimated $200 million dollars.

These two seem like some sort of odd couple, but there’s more than meets the eye here. They are both heartachingly wealthy at this point. With Mr. West being the creator of music that changes landscapes and Kim being his born-to-be muse. See, he loves beauty and Kim is beautiful. So despite her penchant for interesting selfie choices, they’re pretty much a match made in heaven.

Big Sean and Ariana Grande

Power Score

Big Sean: G.O.O.D Music emcee, ad-lib king and budding superstar.

Ariana Grande: The likely successor to Mariah Carey / Disney princess turned Pop heiress.

These two have been causing a stir. Partially because Ariana Grande´ looks like everyone’s quintessential little sister, and partly because she’s the follow up to Sean’s doused-in-flames relationship with Naya Rivera. There’s no doubt, though, as budding stars go, these two are rocketing to the top. And with Big Seans’ Dark Sky Paradise set to possibly be the best work of his career, these two can definitely raise their power quotient in the future.

Tyga and Kylie

Power Score

Tyga: Newly Independent / #1 Singles / Reebok shoe contract / Hip Hop Cash Prince

Kylie: The heir apparent to the Kim Kardashian throne

These two have been embroiled in media controversies for most of their careers since, well, Tyga (and everything else) have been getting into with Cash Money. Then there’s his sort-of underage girlfriend Kylie, with her pouty lips and not being able to get into clubs. This is problematic because Tyga’s a club rapper and yet somehow these two soldier on.

Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj

Power Score

Meek Mill: Signed to Maybach Music / Hip Hop Cash Prince.

Nicki Minaj: Voted Complex’s emcee of 2014 / Superstar emcee / Massively influential brand / #1 Albums

It’s interesting to have a significant other that can outrap you, but Meek Mill is in that rarified air. His ongoing dalliance with Onika has been well televised. First the split from long time boyfriend Safaree freed her up to fall in love, and as Meek swooped in for the kill, Nicki ran into his waiting arms. A classic snooze you lose story, and things are still fairly young, but as long as these two stay together they may be able to rise to the top of the Rap game will they’ll fight the final boss: Jay & Bey.

Elliott Wilson and Danyel Smith

Power Score

Elliott Wilson: Arguably the worlds most well known Rap journalist / Lineage at Ego Trip, XXL, Rap Radar,  HRD CVR and others.

Danyel Smith: Editor-In-Chief at Billboard / Roots at Vibe, Time, XXL / Co Founder HRD CVR

The power couple of the Rap music world is most assuredly the combo of Elliot Wilson and Danyel Smith. They’ve broken some of the biggest stories in Rap history. They’ve also captained the ship at more than their fair share of stories institutions. Their nose for a story as well as what’s to come it also fairly unmatched. Plus, between them they pretty much have access to everyone and anyone.

@Drake Leaving @CashMoney For @WarnerMusic

ot a theory, and it's that Drake will probably be leaving Cash Money and moving to Warner Music. Here's where we try and connect the dots.

Drake’s new project is all over the Internet and a week later has gone Gold and set a Spotify record, but how did we get here?

The Frenzy Surrounding The Release

By now you’ve probably listened to, maybe even memorized some lyrics from Drake’s newest “album”If You’re Reading This Its Too Late.  You may notice that the word album is in quotes. That’s because the word itself is a big portion of the crux of this entire concept.  Ever since The Toronto Raptor’s Demar Derozan let the cat out the bag while speaking to NBA TV,

“[Drake] said he wants to give me his mixtape that comes out in January.”

Fans have been on high alert, awaiting a new mixtape from Canada’s finest; his first since the project that put him on the map, 2009s So Far Gone. Then in late January, OVO crew member and longtime friend P. Regin announced that he knows Drake is, indeed, dropping a mixtape. To heat anticipation up even more,  unconfirmed cover art began circulating the twittersphere, including one version that implied the new tape would be entitled 2 Far Gone and possibly drop on the 6 year anniversary of the original mixtape.

Especially considering Drake’s affinity for the number six, it seemed plausible. They ended up being just about two hours off.  Early Thursday morning Drake released the short film “Jungle,” which featured snippets of what sounded like new music and left the internet ablaze with rumor.  Later he was spotted taking in the sights (literally in the crowd like the rest of us)  at the Kanye West / G.O.O.D Music Roc City Classic concert, where he later caused a mini-riot as he left around roughly 9 pm.  About two hours later, coincidentally (or maybe not) at the same time as recent friend turned foil Puff Daddy’s Madison Square Garden concert was going up, Drake shook the world (or at least the web) by releasing If You're Reading This It’s Too Late for purchase on iTunes (and later Amazon).

Drake Plays The “Album Or Mixtape” Game Of Thrones

The bottom line is that you can buy the project, and seeing as it satisfies the murky guidelines for an LP, it is by technical definition an “album.” Drake has always been a calculated artist, one who takes deep pride in and puts heavy thought into the release of his bodies of work. Consider even further that in July of 2014 Drake announced the title of what would then have been his fourth album Views From The 6, having referenced this on record on the Grammy nominated “0-100/The Catch Up” with the lyric:

“We already got Spring 2015 poppin, PND droppin..not to mention me Droppin.”

So all that being said, why would Drake decide to sell the project?

Knowing how strong the anticipation, execution and release of albums like Take Care and Nothing Was The Same were, with its non existent lead up and cover -- that as a Twitter user said  “looks like the Chick-Fil-A cows suicide note,” for this project to be considered a Drake “album” just seems wrong.

More Breadcrumbs & A Possible Home At Warner Music

As most know by now Cash Money artist and Young Money president Lil Wayne is currently deep in the midst of a legal battle with the label that made him, Cash Money Records. In addition to the millions of dollars Wayne claims is owed to him for his works, there is a specific portion of the 19 page legal document that speaks to Wayne having not received his portion of compensation from Drake’s record sales.

“Cash Money, since at least early 2012, has failed to account to Young Money LLC on a monthly basis and has failed to pay Young Money LLC its share of net receipts with regard to solo recordings of Drake released by the Young Money Label.  Cash Money has failed to provide a single accounting in respect of the exploitation of the Drake Recordings, despite Drake being one of the best selling recording artists in recent years.”

Also, according to entertainment attorney Rafael Martinez, Drake is in the drivers seat no matter how many albums are possibly left on his deal because OVO already has a home at Warner, "I think the prevailing theory is that whenever his deal is up he'd want to combine  his personal thing with this label. Why else go through the trouble of forming your own label if you can't yourself be on it?"

Drake has said numerous times in interviews and songs, where his allegiance truly lies and that he is forever loyal to Lil Wayne, the man who is responsible for his very existence in the game.  In fact, many felt that when Drake first signed to Universal/Republic/Cash Money he did so as almost a favor, and even though his career has proven to be incredibly successful, that he might have made the wrong move by not remaining independent or going his own way label wise. The famed Pusha T’s sub diss from the song “Exodus 23:1” surmised about as much: “You signed to one nigga that signed to another nigga / That’s signed to three niggas, now that’s bad luck.”

Additionally Drake’s OVO Sound label (established in 2012) that houses artists PARTYNEXTDOOR,Majid Jordan, ILoveMakkonnen as well as in house producers 40, Boi-1da, T-Minus and Mike Zombie are distributed through Warner Music, not Universal/Republic. So with Wayne fighting for his money and potentially shelved release, and Drake having already established a new home — one that could also possibly house Wayne down the road,  Drake seemingly has that much extra incentive to put an end to his relationship with Cash Money.

Another interesting tidbit that gives some extra credence to these notions comes from “K.P.” the man who runs Mixtape mega power Datpiff.com, in an exclusive comment to HipHopDX we reported:

“Originally we were in talks to release [If You’re Reading This Its Too Late] for free... and have DJ Drama host and even make it an official "Gangsta Grillz" ... however the label was not in favor of that and they struck an agreement to release the project the retail route and it would count towards one of his [contractual] albums.”

The above information offers some understanding as-to why our favorite Rap ambassador from up north would release a project that is, in essence, a mixtape - he even refers to it being one on the song “6 Man”  as well as “6PM in New York,” and midday Friday took to instagram to ask fans in scribbled e-crayola, “How’s my mixtape.”

Wait, It Gets Better

Appearing first on the official October’s Very Own Soundcloud account for free alongside iTunes, the project was posted before being taken down twice. Being more blatant, Drake’s OVOSOUND website featured a stream via AudioMack as well. Why would an artist of his caliber offer the project gratis, then sell?

When the album first dropped on iTunes (and possibly even a few minutes before) it also appeared for free on the official Octobers Very Own Soundcloud.  It has been put up and taken down twice.  If someone wanted to string things out a few steps further one could almost wonder if this tactic, combined with lyrics like

“..After this drop I got new demands, can’t meet the terms keep it moving then.” - “Used To”  featuring Lil Wayne

&

“Brand new Beretta, cant wait to let it go, walk up in my label like where the check tho’..” - “Star67”

point to the idea that Drake may in fact be undermining the entire process and the sale of the project.

Reports have the digital only release clocking in at just under 500K, settling down around 495,000 sales in its first week. The correlations between the album being initially available for free and the album being hitting online distributors is inconceivable in terms of  commercial reception. When speaking numbers, they benefit the label you may be leaving a great deal more than yourself. Perhaps an olive branch? Like buying your girlfriend a gift when you breakup? This makes the ransom note inspired handwritten cover art seem like a very well placed “I'm happy for you and I'm a let you finish but... I'm out” of sorts dedicated to those who've been managing or mismanaging his purse strings.

The following Friday, Lil Wayne alluded to his previously mentioned The Free Weezy Album around midday with this tweet:

Causing many to assume the free “album” (there’s that word again) was looming or possibly even set to drop by night’s end, those ideas were further enforced via various outlets. However, Mack Maine has seemingly killed hope of another Weezy project, at least for now.

Deconstructing one of music’s most forward thinking artist of the millennial generation has given listeners much to chew on and abstractly plant seeds fans’ minds as well. Well, this is the same guy who dropped a loosie on SoundCloud that eventually landed a Grammy nomination. As the landscape of music consumption and sales change, October’s Very Own manages to continue his ability for providing new points of reference through cryptic communication. This time? For some it’s either message received, try and catch up or maybe “it’s too late.”

Obnoxious! Everything Is Going Down, But The Word Of God meets Obnoxious! Extreme Ratchet Behavior Exposed……Obnoxious Readers, Fans, Friends, Followers, and even Haters, thanks for your out pouring of love and support. As you well know I am, yet dealing with legal matters that soon will be resolved. However, you do not sue someone unless you are scared of what they have got to say. Boy do I have a lot to say, which is why I am working on my book, The Saved, The Sanctified, and The Full of Shit. There you will get an in-depth look at the world through my eyes. I must remind you of what Obnoxious means and my mission.
Obnoxious is a thought provoking expression that is unobjectionablly hot, it is a person, place, thing, or topic, that has to be called out and examined through popular eyes, always verifying the essence of true style, class, and intelligence.
Readers will not always agree or like the subjectsObnoxious sets before them and they are not event meant to, but you are to be presented a different point of view. Learn that your perspective is not always right nor just because your grandmother said so, it does not make it true. Plus I love to give you the latest gossip on all aspects of life. You would not never know there was a Heaven if I did not drag you through the slums of Hell!

Now that I got that off my chest let me get to the matter at hand.
Last year a member of my Obnoxious Street Committeeintroduced me to Ka’Mari Ameir Watkins, who was planning to be a cast member of a ratchet reality show that never saw the light of day, Preacher’s Exes. Now the producer and cast was a bunch of over weight bitter bitches that was so dumb they had allowed themselves to be the objects of bunch of no names pastors side chicks. None except for maybe one or two was ever really married and a legit so called First Lady, one of the sleaze bags was so nasty she started popping out kids at the age of eleven. In all honesty the show and producer is not even worth mentioning except to explain how I encountered the likes of such trash. The only promise the show had was three cast members that still might be worth watching on TV; Betsy Morgan, the ex-wife of Grammy Award Winning Gospel Artist Wes MorganCentoino Kemp, the infamous fifth accuser ofBishop Eddie Lee Long, and Ka’Mari, who was a young flaming gay guy with a bad attitude and horrible
disposition. Now let me hold this story to give you some new information you did not know.
Many of you that follow my work know I have been a champion for victims. It has been my goal to assist those that have been taken advantage of a voice to share with the world their story. Sometimes in that effort you can be misled and taken advantage of by individuals claiming to be victims, but have a secret motive. Come to find out Centino Kemp was a liar. The truth is he was living in Charlotte, North Carolina and was an escort with an ad on Craig’s List. He never was a visitor of the church nor did he have a relationship withBishop Eddie Lee Long other than getting paid to hook up for sex. It just happen that during a visit to AtlantaCentino was watching the news and discovered one of his clients was the bishop that was being sued by four young men for having affairs with them. Now Bishop Long was not in a position to tell the truth so Centinolucked out and got paid.

The excited Ka’Mari sat down with me and could not wait to tell me his story. Instantly I could not stand this unapologetic homosexual that found it amusing how he lured two successful men to have sexual relationships with him. Ka’Mari admitted to me that he would make it his business to get close and become friends with individuals in the entertainment industry to meet men that would possibly have sex with him and pay him to keep his mouth shout. The first guy he met was actually through one his male friends that was also gay and had confided in him that he was seeing a local pastor in Rome. Invited to an event he actually got the opportunity to meet Carey Ingram and exchange numbers with him without his friend noticing. The other guy he met was the sometime on again and off again boyfriend of a female friend that was an make-up artist. Since he claim to be a dancer she invited him to the set of rapper Young Dro’s video and he figured out a way to strike up a conversation with the rapper that was once engaged to be married to the late Rev. Howard Creecy, who was at the time the President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), that broke off the relationship.

Ka’Mari admitted that he did not have nothing more then a short lived sexual relationship with Young Dro. Nothing never really came of it except a few late night calls for a fee rumps in the sack and a few hundred dollars here and there to help him get by.

However, he hit the jackpot with Pastor Carey Ingram , who was this pastor do the largest black Baptist church in Rome and a published author. Needless to say Careyhad a lot to loose and once he had fallen and fallen hard for Ka’Mari he was willing to do whatever it took to keep him happy and quite. The entire time Ka’Mari shared his story he laughed and had a Devilish grin on his face. He was so disgustingly proud of how he entrapped Carey Ingram it made me sick to my stomach. Of course Carey Ingram was dumb with a lot to loose. The married man was quickly forced to open up his check book to keep his wife and three kids from knowing he enjoyed eating and sexing Ka’Mari’s young body. After all Pastor Carey Ingram had written books on children and allegedly according to Ka’Mari started having sexy with him while he was still a teenager. Once his young lover graduated high school Pastor Ingram got him a condo in Atlantic Station in Atlanta so he could have access to him at anytime he wanted him. Plus Ka’Mari wanted to do whatever it took to get out of his dysfunctional mother’s apartment in the projects in Rome.
Obviously in over his head Carey Ingram rented a $1,900 a month condo and purchased a 2008 black on black 350 Mercedes Benz for him to get around in. Constantly demanding more Ka’Mari laughed when he bragged about his opportunity to get out of the relationship the first chance he got. His boyfriend Careycould never make him happy due to his having to always live in hiding and Ka’Mari constantly held it over his head. Knowing full well the desire Ka’Mari had to be famous (words cannot articulate now thirsty he was) he used the opportunity to on the reality show Preacher’s Exes to break up with the pastor of Love Joy Baptist Church. However, nothing ever came of the show except another windfall of money for Ka’Mari to keep quite.

Checkout the lease agreement, text messages, and photos that prove the alleged relationships below:
