Unfortunately Bregoli is no outlier when it comes to social media culture. Being hot is #1 goal, sometimes for very young girls. Her videos and selfies may tend toward the extreme on the spectrum, but are similar in kind to those that exist all over the Internet.

Such postings are sometimes solicited by predators, such as the Australian man who was arrested for allegedly obtaining explicit images of children by posing as the singer Justin Bieber, using mainstream platforms such as Facebook and Skype. And sometimes such images are freely self-generated as a way to get attention, because being sexually provocative is often what is rewarded on social media.

It's like if you post a picture winning the math award, people will laugh at you, but if you post a picture in a bikini you’ll get like a hundred likes.

Many girls are as troubled by the sexualization of girls on social media as their parents would be, if they were fully aware. 

Meanwhile, sexualization hurts girls. The landmark 2007 American Psychological Association report on the sexualization of girls draws connections between sexualization and a host of problems, from anxiety to depression to eating disorders to low self-esteem. Not to mention the fact that sexualized posts by children often border on child porn, and there is a problem with the proliferation of child porn all over the world.

What should be done about children posting sexualized photos and videos of themselves? What is the responsibility of social media companies? And how should the law respond? Until society catches up with this new technology, parents are the first line of defense. It’s time for parents everywhere to take control of their out-of-control teens, for their own well-being and protection before it's to late. 

Seventy-three percent (12,237) of adult and adolescent blacks/African Americans who received an HIV diagnosis were men and 26% (4,397) were women.

A new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that Black women are diagnosed with HIV at disproportionately high rates relative to White and Hispanic/Latina women.

The report finds that despite recent progress that has seen new HIV diagnoses decrease by 21 percent from 2010 to 2016, Black women still account for 60% of all the new HIV infections among women.

Blacks/African Americans account for a higher proportion of new HIV diagnoses and people living with HIV, compared to other races/ethnicities. In 2017, blacks/African Americans accounted for 13% of the US population but 43% (16,694) of the 38,739 new HIV diagnoses in the United States and dependent areas.

The research explored data concerning HIV that was collected over a seven-year period and used a model to measure the disparity among different groups called the population attributable proportion, or PAP. 

That model found that African American women are hit hardest by HIV as the rate of diagnosis is 15 times as high as that of white women, and almost five time that of Latino women. In fact, HIV/AIDS-related illness is among the leading causes of death for black women ages 25-34, the CDC says.

Toddler Dies After Sex Assault in Virginia Motel Room

Police in Virginia say a 17-month-old girl has died after being assaulted at a Richmond hotel. 

The girl's mom, Aija Brown, tells news outlets that baby Nariah Ivy Brown died Friday after being sexually assaulted two days earlier. She says she left her daughter in a motel room with a man she trusted and returned to find her daughter acting strange. She says Nariah was then hospitalized.

But Erica's not stupid - she wasn't willing to trust Safaree blindly. Our snitch tells us that Erica broke into his phone when he wasn't around, and found some disturbing text messages between Safaree and women, including ex Nicki Minaj.

Erica's friend explained, "[Safaree] and Nicki are working together on a project, but the way they were talking it was not appropriate. Safaree told [Nicki] that he still loves her."

They both haven't took a pic together for IG in more than a month.

As for the project between Nicki Minaj and Safaree . . . It's not clear when the project is coming out.

Megan took her mom's passing very hard. And this Mother's Day weekend is especially hard on her.

Megan was on Birmingham's 95.7 Jams on Friday - and the interviewer didn't realize that Megans's Mom had passed.
