Jay Z And Russell Simmons Press N.Y. Governor Cuomo About Criminal Justice System Reform

ay Z and Russell Simmons are used to things going their way; this time, they’re hoping history is on their side. The pair of moguls met with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Wednesday (Dec. 10) to discuss changes to the criminal justice system in New York in light of Eric Garner’s murder and the subsequent non-indictment for the police officer who killed him.
While a Cuomo aid was non-committal on the substantive points of the meeting, Simmons suggested that Cuomo pledged to have special prosecutors handle cases where police brutality is alleged.
Cuomo, the former New York State Attorney General and the Secretary Of Housing And Urban Development under President Clinton, will seek to pass a sweeping set of criminal justice reforms in 2015.

@Lil'Wayne Wants To Leave @CashMoney

Lil Wayne’s days with Cash Money are numbered. Following his shocking tweets earlier in the week, the rapper addressed his fallout with the label during a live appearance.

On Thursday, Weezy tweeted that he wants out of his deal, and that his album Tha Carter V won’t be released because Birdman and Cash Money refuse to put it out.

I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy

But it looks like Weezy will soon be parting ways with Cash Money.

“It’s a fucked up situation, but I will be out of it soon, and I do it for ya’ll,” he said while performing at Vice’s 20th anniversary party in Brooklyn on Friday (via Lil Wayne HQ).

Just a day ago, his manager Cortez Bryant acted like everything was fine.

“We good,” he told TMZ. “I’m smiling. I wouldn’t be out at the club right now.”

He later tweeted, “Sarcasm at an all time high.”

It’s unclear what Wayne’s next moves are, but the door is open at G.O.O.D. Music. Pusha T has invited him to join Kanye West’s label.
